FAMILIE VAN VADERS (2003)

In 'Een Familie van Vaders' volgt maker Kranenborg leden van de Nederlandse actiegroep Familie4justice. De groep mannen en een enkele vrouw strijden voor gerechtigheid. De vaders mogen hun eigen kind niet meer zien, omdat hun ex-partners weigeren mee te werken aan de omgangsregeling, ondanks uitspraken van de Raad voor de Kinderbescherming en de rechter. Met ludieke en spraakmakende acties richt Familie4justice zich op de politiek, jeugdzorg en justitie. De actievoerders klimmen op daken van gerechtsgebouwen en Paleis Soestdijk. Verkleed als Zorro en Superman bezetten ze raadhuizen en partijkantoren.

Duizenden kinderen hebben, ondanks een omgangsregeling na een scheiding, geen of nauwelijks contact met één van de ouders. En dat is meestal de vader. Voor de leden van Familie4justice is de actiegroep echter meer dan een middel om hun standpunten duidelijk te maken. Ze vinden troost bij elkaar. En houden elkaar in de gaten, zodat ze niet doorslaan in hun wanhoop.
Familie4justice is slechts een kleine groep van de 170.000 vaders in Nederland die geen contact meer mogen hebben met hun kinderen.

 

A FAMILY OF FATHERS. (2007)

In the documentary 'A family of fathers' Kranenborg follows some members of the Dutch action group Familie4justice. This group of man is fighting for justice. These fathers are not allowed to see their children anymore, because their ex-partners refuse to cooperate in a visitation, despite the juridical countabillity of this settlement. With playful and high-profile actions, familie4justice is aiming at the politicians, Child protection workers and justice. The activists try to pull attention by climbing on the roofs of a royal palace and court buildings, dressed as Zoro or Superman.

Thousands of children have, despite a visitation settlement after a divorce, no or hardly no contact with one of the parents. And usually this is the father. For the members of familie4justice, their action group is more than only a way to promote their point of views. They comfort eachother. And they keep an eye at each other, to keep each other from despair.
Familie4justice is only a small groupo out of 170.000 fathers who are not allowed to see their children anymore.
