Deels autobiografische lange speelfilm van Kranenborg is een subtiel en weemoedig portret waarin de pijn die verlies met zich meebrengt centraal staat. Puber Jan raakt tijdens de jaarlijkse kersenpluk zijn onschuld kwijt dankzij Marie terwijl zijn opa afscheid moet nemen van het leven. Plaats van handeling is het Noord-Drentse platteland dat door cameraman Giltaij in glasheldere beelden is vastgelegd. Op de soundtrack onder anderen Earth & Fire en de onvermijdelijke Cuby & the Blizzards. Naast prijzen voor de film op het festival van Figueira da Foz (Portugal), werden Anton Starke (opa) en Ricky Koole (Marie) genomineerd voor een Gouden Kalf.

Partly autobiographical feature film of Kranenborg is a subtle and melancholy portrait, about loss. Adolescent Jan looses his virginity at the annual cherry pick thanks to Marie, while his grandfather is slowly preparing for his live end goodbye to life. Venue is the North Drenthe countryside by Giltaij cameraman in crystal-clear images is recorded. On the soundtrack, among others, Earth & Fire and the inevitable Cuby & the Blizzards. Prices for the next film at the Festival of Figueira da Foz (Portugal), were Anton Starke (grandfather) and Ricky Koole (Marie) nominated for a Golden Calf.
